ABOUT

I'm a song writer and instrumentalist with a lot of experience playing at folk sessions. I sing, play rhythm guitar well, and can play keyboard, plucked instruments (banjo etc), harmonica and a few other instruments at a basic level.I'm pretty good at improvising songs (see the link below to a video of one such improvisation), I've played support to Mary Coughlan singing one of my own songs, one of the hosts of the Blue Of The Night on Lyric FM said on air that one my texts 'read like pure poetry' and that I shouldn't be surprised if I saw it on a poster for the show, or on a website, and I can prove this with email correspondence between me and the host, I write a lot of poetry and organize a poetry and music night at a festival in Skerries, Soundwaves, I can use Cubase fairly well, and I've a good head for music theory. I'm looking for musicians of all sorts who'd like to work on an indie folk sound (the Villagers, Low Anthem, Iron & Wine etc) Evenings and nights are good for me as regards practice, but I'm flexible.

Influences

Everything under the sun. More specifically for this project, Leonard Cohen, Anais Mitchell, Nick Cave, Gordon Lightfoot, Iron & Wine, Laura Veirs, alt folk in general)

EQUIPMENT

I've a cheap guitar but would gladly buy a great one if the band looked promising enough, a cheap keyboard that sounds infinitely better hooked up to my software (I've a LOT of software that sounds great)
